Widow’s Creek: A Concept Trailer
The Challenge
Bringing a gripping feature-length horror film concept to life in a proof-of-concept trailer required showcasing the script’s cinematic potential while working with a limited budget. The goal was to capture the haunting atmosphere and compelling narrative of Widow’s Creek to secure funding for the full production.
The Idea
The trailer needed to convey the eerie small-town setting, the supernatural threat of the witch, and the dark legacy haunting the family at the heart of the story. To achieve this, we collaborated with skilled creatives for creature design, storyboarding, and lighting, crafting a polished and atmospheric piece that would captivate potential investors.
The Solution
The Widow’s Creek concept trailer delivered on its promise of suspense and visual storytelling:
Cinematic Visuals: Careful attention was given to framing, lighting, and shot composition to evoke the mood and style of a full-length feature.
Creature Creation: Collaborated with experts to design and execute a chilling witch and her supernatural draggers.
Narrative Tease: Built suspense by hinting at the story’s stakes while leaving viewers wanting more.
My Role
As the director, director of photography, and editor, I was responsible for shaping the visual and narrative tone of the project. From planning and shooting to post-production, I ensured that every detail aligned with the vision for Widow’s Creek and demonstrated its potential as a cinematic experience.
This project was a thrilling opportunity to combine storytelling with collaboration, laying the groundwork for a compelling feature film.
